About
My paintings live in the space between a dream and a memory. Layered, symbolic, and drawn from mythology, archetype, and the mysteries of the natural world, they're made for people who are drawn to beauty, symbolism, and atmosphere in the spaces they live with.
I'm Keita Selina, a British-Canadian fine artist based in Pemberton, BC. My work is collected internationally and is rooted in archetypal women, feminine strength, and the symbolism I've been painting since childhood. Each piece is built slowly in mixed media, with layers of acrylic, ink, oil, and mark-making that give the surface depth and atmosphere.
Background
I hold a First Class BA Honours degree in Theatrical Arts and spent over a decade working as a professional scenic artist in the UK theatre and Vancouver film industry. That training shaped my eye for scale, texture, and visual storytelling, and it still shows up in every canvas I paint today. Motherhood brought me from large stage backdrops to smaller, symbolic works made between the ordinary moments of life, and that's where Art by Keita began.
Who the work is for
My paintings are collected by people who value beauty, symbolism, and atmosphere in their spaces. They’re drawn to work that carries a sense of meaning without needing explanation, and they care about how a piece shapes the feeling of a room. My original paintings are held in private collections in Pemberton, Whistler, and internationally.
Working together
I release new originals in small collections throughout the year, with early access given first to members of my Collector's Circle. Limited edition prints are available through the shop, and I accept a small number of custom painting commissions each year for collectors who want a piece made specifically for their space.
