Áine, the Irish goddess of summer, sovereignty, and abundance, embodies warmth, strength, and light. Often associated with the sun and midsummer, she radiates an energy that inspires courage and growth. In this piece, Áine is depicted with a moth covering one eye, symbolizing the "flight" response to fear. Moths, though creatures of the night, are drawn to light, representing the instinct to seek safety and escape from danger.
This artwork explores the delicate balance between light and darkness, courage and retreat, as the vulnerability of the moth tempers Áine’s powerful presence.
